Owned by National Church Residences, Gateway Village is an independent living community providing safe and easy-maintenance living for seniors who can still live independently, and enjoy engaging in social activities with other seniors.

Landscaping Creates Serene Environment at New Hospice of the Chesapeake Campus

Hospice of the Chesapeake is a great local organization that provides much-needed health care services for people with advanced illnesses. Recently, Hospice of the Chesapeake had the opportunity, as a result of an anonymous donation of $2.3 million, to expand its area presence with the addition of a new campus located at 90 Ritchie Highway in Pasadena. When it opens, the new campus will include buildings housing the administrative offices, an educational conference center, grief counseling, crisis intervention and a host of other programs. The Pasadena campus will greatly expand Hospice of the Chesapeake's ability to serve the community.

Landscaping for House of Lebanon Adaptive Reuse Project

The team here at E-Landscape is excited to once again be working with Maryland-based Mid Atlantic general contractor Hamel Builders, this time on the House of Lebanon in Washington, DC. House of Lebanon is an adaptive reuse project involving redevelopment of The Margaret Murray Washington Career High School (MM Washington), a historic school building located in the Shaw neighborhood of Washington DC. Built in 1912, the school is part of a cluster of African American schools constructed around the same time as middle class African American families, who were restricted from living in other sections of the city by restrictive covenants, moved into the neighborhood in the late nineteenth century.

Victory Court is a new, mixed income apartment community for seniors 62 and over located between Monroe Street and Maryland Avenue in Rockville Town Center. The three-story complex with stone and brick townhouse-style architecture is designed to fit in with the neighborhood of historic homes near Rockville's government center and downtown.

Design-Build for Dahlgreen Courts

E-Landscape has been selected to provide design-build services for the development of Dahlgreen Courts, an affordable housing development in Washington, DC. Developed by Mission First Housing Development Corporation (MFHDC), the Dahlgreen Courts project included the preservation of 96 units of affordable housing and the substantial rehabilitation of two historic buildings in the Brookland neighborhood. Designed by architects Weincek & Associates and built by Hamel Builders, Dahlgreen Courts is intended to qualify for Enterprise Green Communities.

The SeVerna will consist of a five story building along First Street NW, connecting to two-over-two townhouses along L Street NW. The entire SeVerna project incorporates sustainable design principals.

Pervious Paver Installation at the Vida Senior Residences

Last Friday marked the completion of our work on the Vida Senior Residences at Brightwood on Missouri Avenue in Washington, DC. Located in a neighborhood with green areas and significant historic sites, the Vida Senior Residences are affordable (50% Area Median Income) independent-living senior (55+) apartments. The five level building features 36 new, fully-furnished, multifamily units designed with seniors in mind. A rooftop terrace will house Vida's community garden, and a private shuttle will assist residents with their transportation needs.
